So, I'm not sure if I am posting in the right spot, but I do have some good news! I went to my GI doc for a follow up and he gave me some news that I'm unexpected happy over. The results of my GI scopes came back inconclusive, but they did show an ulcer that was in the right part of the intestines for crohns. They're doing one more test for that right now, which I should see results for in 7 to 10 business days.

I told him my general practitioner said it was all in my head, and the specialist just shook his head, smiled and said. "Some doctors have a hard time saying that they dont know. There's a difference between anatomical problems in the body and physiological problems in the body. Anatomical ones, we see a tumor, we diagnose it, cut it out, done. Physiological...those tests aren't as advanced as we'd like them to be."

So, yay! My GI specialist actually believes me!

I was talking to my wife afterwards and just asked her "did he just tell me that my general practitioner is wrong and should just admit it?"  :laughbounce2:

So, still waiting on the test results, but I was thinking back on what he said, and I think he's likely right on part of the problem being Crohn's. He showed me a diagram of the GI tract and my ulcer is right in the sweet spot so to speak for this disease. In a small number of cases, there's only one ulcer during calm periods and no inflammation. He seemed to not discredit my fibro belief, which is good.

Next step is to start by really looking for a new general practitioner. I have heard of one who won as best in a city wide poll, so I might try them. If not...well, I might take the specialist's advice and email my local research hospital or Mayo clinic.

It'd serve him right if Mayo clinic diagnosed it, and made him treat it.

Well.. the short answer to this is hell yes.. the long answer requires a whole lot of guffaws and knee slapping but yeah.. your doctor was ignorant of the facts as they actually were and unwilling to admit his inability to suss out that fact... he's your basic run of the mill schooled moron.

Bravo.. very happy to hear you've made a new discovery.  I hope this leads to a whole lot less pain for you.  We're right there cheering you the whole way.  I know looking for a new doc is a royal pain but it's a job worth doing when you're current doctor talks  like a duck if you know what I mean.  I'd love to see your old doc eat some crow!!!  :clapping:
