Last night, the pain was so bad that I couldn't fall asleep. I proceeded to take a hot bath with epson salts and that did the trick. I fell asleep in 20 minutes. :sleep1:

Awesome that is my go to when all else fails to!!!

I used to do that, until it got to where I can't sit in the tub, the angle of the back is just wrong for me. I have to either be sitting straight up, or about half-way of what a recliner leans, or laying straight. So now I just get in the shower, and stand so it can hit about halfway down my back, while I am bent forward just far enough that the water actually runs down the small of my lowerback.

Sorry Robby to hear that your pain is that bad and thanks also to looneylane for your feedback. :)

Robby I know price might be an issue but there is a walk in sit up tub that has a door that might work.

Good choice of intervention Greg!!  :clapping:

Robby.. I know that changing to a tub seat, one that you sit down on that's at the same level as the tub edge, really changes the angle of your back..  Can't say I've found one that's all that comfortable but they are a relief when you can't get down to the bottom.  It's more of a shower thing of course, baths are only for when you can get down and up.. but it's still a fair amount of relief.

One thing I found.. if it's a shower, stopper up the tub and keep your feet warm.  If the water's too cool at the bottom, flip the water down and warm it up.  This is, after all, all about the comfort.

Greg, I've seen those walk in tubs, they even have the hydrotherapy jets I would love that. One of these days I'm actually going to find out information on them. But, I doubt I will ever be able to afford one. OK, I just had to go ahead and see what I could find, knowing most companies would require you to "request" information so they can contact you and discuss over the phone so they can bug you until you bought something just to shut them up. However I found one webpage that compares the top 14 brands, still no price but you can find out everything else in one place, including the reputation of the company. Then I looked at the Lowe's site, they had like 3 or 4, then I checked the Home Depot site, they have two or three pages, between Home Depot and American Standard site, I found a price range between $2,400-$12,000 (CAD 3,000-15,000). I will have to do other checking to see what insurance will or will not pay, I'll get back with that information.

Those are just the three sites with the most information, here is the Google search

I don't know if this is true,   but............

I've heard that some people have gotten trapped in these walk in tubs.   You have to wait until the water drains out before you can get out and the water cools down.  Maybe if you have very bad mobility they are a problem.

I can see that being a problem for me.  I'm always cold.  Still, they do look nice and I would get one if I could. ;)

You know I've never thought about it, but you do have to wait until the water drains, and I don't know about that part. The way I have pains hit me, and I have to move around, having to sit and wait for the water to drain, I don't know about. But, it might be worth it, if you get the bubble jets, and it makes me feel good enough.

What do you do if the drain stops up while you're in it?

db

That's the problem.  If you don't have a phone, or someone is not near by, and you can't crawl out.   :jawdrop:

The water heater would have to be set so high to get a decent level of acceptably warm therapeutic water for a jet action that I don't know if it even could be warm enough to help.
