Has anyone experience with Raynaud's appearing only on the soles of the feet? My feet look...disgusting.... :an eyes popping:

I have a swelling, tingling, burning feet for awhile. Hurts til I move, better for awhile, then too much makes them feel like hot burning knieves have been stabbed into them.

My feet got super cold at work today. Came home, and it felt like I could feel veins spasming, but no obvious color change, just swelling feet.

But the bottoms! Tech! Jaudice yellow by the nonexistent arches. Dark, dusky red on the outside, purplish toenail beds and fingerbeds

My nails have been purplish at the base since I had an allergic reaction to bleach.

Also, Cymbalta and Elavil/amitripline, not appetite? What the hell? I thought I'd be hungrier. I always used to be ravenous before them.

Also had spinning room, dizziness..like hypoglycemia, but no pain or hunger.

Halp?

Jasshook

Also sorry kind of foggin

Itchy teeth? Anybody feel that?

Or insect bite sensations in addition to tingling?

Or..your hair hurt? Or stabbing sensations under your nail beds?

I think being in the heat then air conditioning is playing havoc... Also hot and cold rooms at work..

Sorry if I am incoherent. I feel overstimulated to the point of hallucinations. Probably stress too. :dizzy:

Good thing I have the weekend off! Also my mom covered my car payment! :smiley praying:

That sounds like Raynaud's. It can start at the outer most area of the extremity, and then progress until it's the whole extremity. Spinning room, dizziness, yes, and yes, but not often. I do have hypoglycemia, so it could be that.

Foggin, normal, Itchy teeth, I don't have the problem, but then again I don't have any teeth except the one's I put in a glass at night, and if they started itching, I would get worried. Insect bites, check, hair hurt check, stabbing sensations, check, hot and cold check, hallucinations check could be my paranoia though,

Great news about the car payment.

I think it was just my feet and legs got super cold at work. I am going to wear jeans Monday. My feet can not stand socks or shoes so not sure what to do there.

I think the Rynauds made the fibro go off. Feeling better today. I should be getting new insurance and locating. New doctor soon.

Does anyone have personal experience with a doctor in South Carolina or near there? I a,m looking for a friendly fibro primary care physician.

Thanks for all the support, especially when my brain melts.

denny

Just a really quick look got me a good name to start with...

Dr. Frank E. Harper, MD
East Cooper Rheumatology
890 Johnnie Dodds Blvd Ste 2A
Mount Pleasant, SC 29464
(843) 881-9971 (Office)
I got a direct recommendation for this guy from three fibromyalgia patients.  From all indications, he is THE fibro rheumy to see in SC.

I found a family doctor that came with one recommendation... she's a little north-west of Columbia though, not sure if that's too far or not.  Here's her info:

Dr. Claire L. Birdsong, MD
    Parkridge Medical Associates
100 Palmetto Health Pkwy Ste 220
    Columbia, SC 29212

I have had no direct contact with any of these folks to find out if they're taking on new patients so my apologies on that.  The recommendations all came from ladies so take that into consideration.

If you already have a fibro diagnosis, many rheumatologists will not see you as they cannot treat fibro, only diagnose it.  This is not true of every rheumy but it is common.  The most likely doctor to actually help you is going to be a family doc.  When there is further problems, they generally refer you to a specialist and then you get transferred back to the GP for month to month treatment.

GPs can get you your meds and treat your other maladies and make sure they aren't fibro related, but in general, you are the one who ends up taking on the day to day responsibility of treating your fibro.

Fortunately, it doesn't take a doctor's degree to manage fibro... and that's what we specialize in... surviving fibro.  :insane:  I'll continue to dig into finding more family docs but folks are being really quite tight lipped about their own docs.  Makes my job a lot harder but we'll see what we can do.  It might require some phone around to find ones that will work for you locally.

Here you are out of the country and somehow find doctors I can in the USA.
I am in the Augusta, Ga area and NOW HAVE INSURANCE and need a lot of good doctors.
Anyone anywhere heard of good FM docs in this area?
Columbia, SC is over an hour away and since I feel like crap, a two hour round trip w/ hours in the office
ruins that day and a few after it too.....

Here is a link to a post where I left a link to a website that list pro-fibro docs around the country. I can't guarantee you'll find something but it's a place to start.

Hey LizardKing... sorry it took me a while to get back here... what a day!!  Anyways... that's fabulous that you got insurance!!  WAHOOO!!!  Compared to that, this is going to be the easy part... I hope.  :smiley praying:

Here's what I've been able to dig up so far:

Allen Sloan, MD.  Pain Management
1168 W Martintown Rd
North Augusta, SC 29841-2046
Phone: (803) 202-0053
Dr Sloan got an excellent fibro related recommendation.  He's no 64 so you might want to inquire about his retirement plans.

I also found a list from another fibro forum group.  I don't wish to swipe their work so I shall direct you there for more info;  http://www.fibromyalgiaforums.org/fibromyalgia-doctors/us/ga/augusta
I can't tell you what criteria they use but I would bet that there's a lot of lists combined in that one.  It looks like a long list but when I checked my home town of Winnipeg, I didn't recognize a single doctor.  :dunno:  If you find it useful, please let me know as I'd love to add it in as a good resource to my list.

:bighug:  Go get em. :great:

<<<<late addition>>>>

I was also able to find a fibro savvy massage technician named Donna B Smith.. now she moved a bit from when she was recommended but I think I tracked her down to Augusta Cosmetic Surgery and Day Spa, 1220 George Centre Wilson Drive, Augusta.  The phone is (706) 863-9595.  When you call them, make sure she still works there as a massage therapist if you decide to try it out.  ;)
