I am a 56 year old male with a long history of severe fibromyalgia since my late teens. I had both my TM joints operated on in early 1980s. It wasn't until I had seen a zRheumatologist  in Phil.,Pa.   that I had got diagnosed. I presently see a pain management specialist in n.e. Pa.   but am in need of a pain management specialist in Philadelphia or close to New York City or New Jersey. The reason being I have the best care when I was diagnosed in the 1980's in a teaching hospital. I live in the Scranton,Pa. area and Greatly APPreciate any knowledgeable pain management specialist that can help my Severe Fibromyalgia. Thank you kindly ,Jerry

WELCOME Jerry!!! I am glad you found us. I don't know if this list will help, but it's a good place to start, follow this link to find the actual link you need. You probably want to stay as close to home as possible. It might not be a big deal, but looking very far from home could look suspicious to the powers that be. We look forward to getting to know you, and sharing information to help each other, and to learn from each other.

Best of luck.

Personally, I have not had much luck with with this specialty.  I did get a treatment once for my headaches, and it worked for awhile .  But it was only temporary and the dr. left the group soon afterwards.  His replacement didn't seem to want to do anything.  :emobadmod:

I do have one I've seen at my HMO.  Better, but not much seems to matter anymore.  I've mostly figured things out on my own.

Welcome to the family Jerry, :welcomeani:

I've had a love for the Scranton area sing the 80s when I first heard of it through a combination of Harry Chapin's Bananas song and the story My Side of the Mountain.  I dug in and fell in love with the area.  I've seen tons of pics... simply gorgeous!!  Absolutely stunning views!

I dug a little and couldn't find anything within 90 miles of your place that was recommended... not that they aren't there, just I can't find the info.  FibroBetty is by far the best source of info on good doctors.. she's spent decades gathering info, tracking medical publications, and going to symposiums all over the US to keep that info current.  I've got a few ideas that I'll list here for you but you'd do well to ask her.  She always comes up with amazing people!

I don't normally do this but seeing as the site no longer exists, I'll post the content here.  All thanks and credit goes to the folks who created and maintained www.co-cure.org which sadly no longer exists.  Note that this content is culled directly from the Pennsylvania, USA page using the web archive service web.archive.org...
