I sometimes have widespread pain while I urinate. Not in my bladder or penis or anywhere near those areas, but, everywhere else.

With fibro I can see where this is possible. I mean you use muscles in your back and legs and other areas to squeeze out the urine. I know I've felt a tightness in other areas but never pain.

But, could you give us a few more details about your overall condition? How did all this start? What treatments are you on/have tried? What kind of condition overall are you in? Just anything that might help.

Question for you... and this will sound funny to most guys until you've been caught with a bad case of the shakes... Do you stand or sit while you pee?  It might make a difference to the pain that you experience to try sitting.  I know it's far from ideal and it feels more like making tea in cold water but give it a try if you want.  Hopefully, it's just a matter of some muscles trying to relax while other ones are having to work overtime to keep you in place.

I went through a spell that when I shaved or brushed my teeth my legs were shaking and felt weak. Thankfully this passed.

Oh Yes!
I sit btw,but I don't think it makes any difference.
I think it's neuro pain.begins around that area then moves through my body.

I've sat for years due to weakness in my legs while trying to go, but that goes with the other thread by denny about weakness in the legs.

Like some of you, I have had to sit while urinating due to the legs.  I had a bad UTI that lasted over 3 months.  They tried
a number of different antibiotics, but I am allergic to most all of them and finally had to spend 3 weeks having daily infusions using light antibiotics every morning 7 days a week to ease the pain.  One of the Drs. told me to lean back as far as I could while sitting and urinating.

Still have some pain, but not as bad as before.  I had to give them a urine sample on the last day of the infusions to make sure that there wasn't any infection.  It took me over 2 hours to be able to give them that damn sample.   The treatment room was basically a large square with easy type chairs about every 8 feet apart.  There were 2 bathrooms back to back in the middle so I felt like I had 1000 eyes watching me.  Over 75% of the patients were female.  That even made it a little harder getting the urine flowing.

My new GP put me on diuretic pills last month because I am retaining so much fluid, but I am having problems with them also.  I can only take one every other day or I break out in hives.  God what a pissy life.    :emowall: :emowall:

How widespread does the pain get at it's worst ?

CB, those hives worry me... be careful and kick your doctor from me for putting you on something you're allergic to.  Numbnuts!!

Denny... that sounds a lot more widespread than it being a trigger point or two...  If you're hurting bad all over when you pee, I would wonder if you aren't right that it's a neurological thing which puts fibro squarely in the possible range.  Dang... I know it hurts to relax muscles but dang!!  :dunno: :budy:

Hurts may be too strong a word.
It's intense, yes, but it only hurts once in a while when it becomes too intense.
I don't remember it being any different.ever. :dunno:
