Bordeaux, France: Cannabis inhalation alleviates symptoms in patients with restless legs syndrome (RLS), according to a series of case reports published in the journal Sleep Medicine. Up to ten percent of the US population is estimated to suffer from RLS.

French researchers reported on the experience of six patients with treatment-resistant RLS following cannabis inhalation. All patients reported "total relief of RLS symptoms as well as complete improvement of sleep quality" following their use of marijuana.

"To our knowledge, this is the first report on the efficacy of cannabis in RLS," investigators concluded. "Robust clinical trials are required to test the adequate profile of the effectiveness and safety of cannabinoids in RLS."

WOW,

My wife could sure use some of that about now.  She kicks my legs black and blue from RLS.  Wonder of the doc would agree.  Problem is that she refuses to try it even though it is legal in our State.    :emowall: :emowall:

Yup, some folk are never going to feel right using it, whether it be because they were always told of it's an evil or because they don't want to use narcotics for their pain... either way, their choice, regardless of how much we wish they would try it.  I'm still hoping that some folks in my care group will suddenly change their minds about MMJ... specifically, my doctor!

Very very cool about the RLS link.  Something told me that would likely be one of the first problems to go away.   :respect:

Sounds good to me.  I don't know if I have RLS but my legs have gone to a state of constant ache.   :yikes:  I have to have heat essentially 24/7.  I've up the acupuncture but so far I don't think the ache is going away.   :emocrazy:

Still, I am able to walk and exercise a little bit more these days so some of the ache may be self inflicted.  Still, the exercise seems to help so much in other areas that I don't plan to stop.  :emobadmod:
